The vast majority of our students go on to set up their own independent workshops or bench rent from us while they establish their own name and reputation. During their course students often form such strong friendships that they team up to establish very successful joint enterprises, this eases many of the inital financial presssures when starting up a new venture.
These are links to just some of the many students we have taught who have established their own successful businesses.
Andrew Wilson
There are at least three reasons why people commission a bespoke piece: The first is quality. There is always real satisfaction in knowing that a piece has been designed for you and hand made down to the last detail. The second is uniqueness. A piece that you have commissioned will be unique to you – designed for you alone and made to meet your specific requirements. The third is personalisation. A commissioned piece can include a personalised touch, such as a monogram or a particular design feature, which directly links it to the person for whom it has been made.; Further examples of his work may be found at Andrew Wilson Fine Furniture.

Henny Gargoskij
When I’m working on a piece, naturally I use my eyes to see if the shape and proportions are right. But I use my hands just as much. I feel to check the shape, the smoothness of the surface, and whether the shape is nicely flowing. If it feels right, it usually looks right. My pieces of furniture are made to explore, by touching, feeling, listening… Further examples of her work may be seen at byHENNY Furniture.
